STORYBOOK–  The songs of Brendan Graham, sung by Cathy Jordan (Dervish) and accompanied by Feargal Murray (Camille O’ Sullivan, Jimmy McCarthy) will be released on 19th January 2024, with the debut single ‘A WINTER BLESSING’ released 1^st December. This ten-track album traverses the lines between old tradition and more modern folk tradition. Songs on the album include ‘Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears’, ‘Waltzing Alone’ ‘Sleepsong’ and ‘Winter Fire & Snow’.

This album is a culmination of Cathy and Feargal working together on Brendan’s songs for 20 years. Along the way, they recorded simple, honest piano/vocal demos with engineer Dave McCune in his Balbriggan studio, North County Dublin.

Brendan encouraged Cathy and Feargal as a duo and developed their musical rapport by constantly providing them with more songs to record. Eventually, they would make an album of Brendan’s songs. They made it in the same sparse style as their demos – Cathy’s soulful/narrative-style singing along with Feargal’s supportive/skeletal piano. This time they included some fine guest musicians from Ireland, Scotland and Norway. Their presentation of Brendan’s wonderful songs brings out the storytelling element in this album.
